Waterproofing, Brick Replacement, Window Lintel Replacement & Coping Stone Restoration
This project involved extensive exterior façade restoration, masonry repairs, and waterproofing to address deteriorated brickwork, damaged window lintels, and areas of the building envelope vulnerable to moisture infiltration. The work was performed from suspended scaffolding and swing stages, allowing our team to safely access elevated façade areas and complete repairs with precision.
Scope of Work
- 01Brick Replacement: Carefully removed deteriorated and damaged bricks from the façade and installed matching replacement bricks to restore the wall’s structural integrity, appearance, and weather resistance. New masonry was blended with the existing brickwork to maintain a consistent architectural finish.
- 02Window Lintel Replacement: Removed deteriorated window lintels and completed the necessary masonry removal and preparation for replacement. New lintel components were installed and properly integrated with the surrounding masonry to support the window openings and help prevent water penetration.
- 03Coping Stone Restoration: Repaired and restored deteriorated coping stone sections along the upper façade and parapet walls. Damaged areas were removed or prepared for repair, and the coping was restored to improve protection at the building’s most exposed horizontal surfaces.
- 04Masonry Repair & Repointing: Addressed deteriorated mortar joints and damaged masonry surrounding the repair areas. Proper surface preparation and masonry repair techniques were used to restore the façade and create a durable transition between existing and replacement materials.
- 05Waterproofing: Applied waterproofing treatments to repaired façade areas and vulnerable masonry surfaces to help reduce moisture infiltration, protect against weather exposure, and extend the service life of the building envelope.
- 06Façade Protection & Restoration: Completed the restoration with attention to proper material compatibility, surface preparation, and finish consistency, helping preserve the building’s exterior while improving long-term durability.
Materials Used:
Spec-Mix, Sika Thorocoat®️-400, and Sika 123 were utilized for masonry repair, waterproofing, and façade restoration applications. Matching replacement bricks were selected to blend with the existing façade and maintain the building’s original appearance.
The completed restoration improved the façade’s weather resistance, repaired deteriorated masonry components, and provided long-term protection against moisture-related damage.
